you need a program for writing a compact disc.i recommend you NERO



Using nero you can make MP3 disc,Data CD and closely more but i can't remeber now

With the information cd function you can put whatever you want on the disc

ther is a plunger inside of the drive that shoots a laser onto the disc and in the laser is your information you want to burn onto the disc, if youve ever notice after you burn it the shiney side is more darker, i.e. because there are little burns of metaphors and files and data, thats why its call cd burn or write, hope this helps
