How do I overclock my AMD64 cpu?

I own an AMD64 that runs at 2.0 ghz and I wanna overclock it.what are the steps I need to...I go into the bios settings but am unsure of what to change.

How do I overclock my AMD64 cpu?

If your AMD Athlon is not an FX, are you sure you can alter its frequency and voltage? Even 10% overclocking can lift the core temp by 20+ C. Bad idea unless you own macho cooling capacity to cope. Overclocking the CPU recurrently causes problems next to RAM latency.

Going from Wincrap to Linux (Knoppix LIVE! 5.1.1. DvD boot) will boost math throughput by 40% and generally speed most of everything else, too. There' not a item BillGates can do about, any - the hard drive defaulting isn't mounted. If you do devote a partition or subdirectory to Linux, it's out of Wincrap's picture.

The DvD comes up,

knoppix:

You then own 60 seconds to open entering

lang=us dma <enter>

or you get a German upright.

Happiness then accrue.

If you want much bigger yarbles in your hardware, subsequent year 64-bit quad core Athlons arrive. Start saving up.

oh god oh god oh god
check manufacturer's site and documentation, but remember that overclocking overheats the chip and will wear it out, or worse, burn it out.
If you overclock your processor correctly you wont enjoy anything to worry something like. You need to dance through your bios. Increase your fsb by 5 and the voltage by as minimal as it will allow. Restart and then check the stability of it. Make sure you bring as much air flow into that grip as you can. The CPU will get hotter than mundane. Even better take the side of your casing off and permit the room temp (If you keep your house cold) do some of the work. Here is a great article on overclocking.
