How do I find the right RAM to buy for my HP Pavilion 533w, besides HP website?

I bought my computer resembling 7 seven years ago.. it has Celeron(R) CRU 2.00GHz 1.99GHz, 256MB of RAM. and my computer have been running immensely slow on start up and when starting/running programs. I have done virus checks and cleanups..and they do pocket stuff out but still my computer runs slow and freezes. Also it's telling me something like my virtual memory is low. Can someone help plz.

if itd 7 years old next that would be right when they wire switching the strike type. so you would have to interested your computer to see. and if your computer is running slow try a disk cleanup then a disk defragmenter.

The maximum memory for your computer is 2GB ( 1GB PC2100 DDR266 x 2). Since your 256MB already uses one of the two slots in the computer. I recommend you to purchase addt'l 1GB (1 piece) for the 2nd slot. You don't enjoy to purchase from HP (HP also purchases the memory from other memory manufactures). You can order your memory from focal name brand memory maker such as Kingston, Corsair, Simple, etc. If you want very flawless but cheaper RAM from the companies that may sale 3th knees-up memory (offer lifetime warranty too) such as Memoryx.net(.com) etc.
